Worship at Apostles

At Apostles Lutheran Church, worship is the heart of our life together. We are a traditional Lutheran congregation with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary music, creating a meaningful, Christ-centered worship experience. Each Sunday, we gather as a church family to hear God's Word, pray together, sing His praises, and celebrate Holy Communion.

Our worship service begins every Sunday at 9:00 a.m.

What to Expect During Worship

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month. All baptized Christians who believe Christ is truly present in the Sacrament are welcome at the Lord's Table.

Children in Worship

We consider children a blessing to our congregation, and they are always welcome in worship. We are grateful to have them as part of our church family. A nursery is available during worship for children ages 5 and under for parents who wish to use it. During the sermon, children ages 5 and older have the opportunity to attend Children's Church for a Bible lesson and activity.

Children's Church

Children ages 5 and older have the opportunity to attend Children's Church during the sermon portion of the worship service. Just before the sermon begins, children are dismissed from the sanctuary and welcomed by one of our Children's Church teachers in the narthex (our lobby area). Children are then escorted to a classroom where they enjoy an age-appropriate Bible lesson, discussion, and activity designed to help them grow in their faith and understanding of God's Word. If your child is feeling shy or would be more comfortable with a parent present, you are welcome to accompany them. At the conclusion of the sermon, children are escorted back to the sanctuary to rejoin their families and participate in the remainder of the worship service.

Nursery

A nursery is available during worship for children ages 5 and under for parents who wish to use it. While children are always welcome in worship, we understand that families have different needs, and our nursery provides a comfortable option for younger children during the service. Parents are welcome to use the nursery for the entire service or as needed. Like our Children's Church, the nursery is staffed by a team of caring volunteers who serve on a rotating schedule. The nursery is equipped with a rocking chair, changing table, and age-appropriate toys for young children. A changing station is also available in the women's restroom located across the hall. We also keep a small supply of diapers and wipes on hand should the need arise. Should a diaper change be needed, a nursery volunteer will notify a parent so they may assist their child. If you would like to use the nursery, simply ask one of our greeters when you arrive, and they will be happy to direct you and answer any questions.

Hebrews Café

Immediately following the worship service, you're invited to join us in the Hebrews Café for a time of fellowship. Located just across from the sanctuary, it's a welcoming place to enjoy coffee, tea, and light refreshments while getting to know others in our church family. This is often when children are in Sunday School or Confirmation classes, giving parents a chance to relax, visit, and connect with one another.

Sunday School

Sunday School for both children and adults is offered following the worship service and typically lasts about 30–45 minutes during the school year. All Sunday School classes are currently on summer break and will resume after Labor Day.

Confirmation Class

Our Confirmation program is designed for middle school-aged students and provides a strong foundation in the Christian faith. Through the study of Scripture, Martin Luther's Small Catechism, and the core teachings of the Lutheran Church, students grow in their understanding of God's Word and what it means to follow Jesus Christ. Confirmation classes encourage students to ask questions, strengthen their faith, and prepare to publicly affirm their baptismal faith while becoming confident Christian leaders equipped to live out their faith in the world. Confirmation classes meet following worship during the school year and are currently on summer break. Classes resume after Labor Day.

Youth Group

We believe children are a gift from God. Throughout the year, our youth enjoy Bible studies, fellowship, service opportunities, special events, and outings that encourage spiritual growth while having fun together.
