INCLEMENT WEATHER

TWO HOUR DELAY

Friday October 12,2018 the Center will open at 8:30am

In general Apostles Preschool & Childcare follows Chesapeake Public Schools weather related closings and delays. At the Discrection of the Director and/or President of the APC Board, the Center may open or modify the delay or closing.

Center closing information will be sent out via SmartCare email/messaging, the Apostles Preschool & Childcare website and REMIND.  Parents may also view WVEC13 News Now for the list of school closings.

If Chesapeake Public Schools close or are on a delay due to the weather, the center will also be on a delay or close as well. The childcare center will close if the center is not safe for the children (i.e. Power out, floods, etc.) If the center must perform an emergency closing while students are in the center the parent will be contacted and asked to pick up their child. If the parent cannot be reached the emergency contacts will be called. If it is necessary to evacuate the center and the child has not been picked up the child will remain in the care of the supervising teacher or Director. Children will be taken to Apostles Lutheran Church, a designated local shelter, the teacher or Directors home or the Red Cross. The parent will be notified of the location of the child as soon as they have safely arrived.
