WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I COME TO APOSTLES?

We would love to be your church, to help you grow in your faith, to help you love God, to love each other, and to love our community. We are in this together.

A Place to Feel At Home

We are always happy to see new folks at Apostles and we want you to feel at home here. Even if you have never opened the Bible, we want you to come and explore what life in Jesus Christ is all about. Participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable doing. We really want you to “come as you are” because that’s how Christ receives all of His children.  People dress in a variety of ways for worship, with many dressing casually.  Your children are always welcome at Apostles and we have special message for them during our worship service.  Click Here for ABOUT US.

A Friendly Environment

Upon entering the double glass doors, you will be welcomed by our church family.  You’ll be given our weekly order of worship and invited to sit anywhere within our sanctuary. Between services, we gather in the HeBrews Cafe for fellowship and coffee and sometimes a sweet treat – please feel free to join us!

A Place to Connect

We will never single you out during the service but we’d like to connect with you after your visit.   If you are a first time guest, please stop by our Visitor's Center in the Narthex (foyer) so that we can offer you a small gift. On the white card located in the pew, please let us know of any prayer requests.  It is our privilege to lift up your joys and concerns to God.

An Upbeat and Refreshing Service

You'll enjoy practical messages and a worship style that celebrates God. What you learn on Sunday will help you live throughout the week. Please follow along in the order of worship.  If you get lost, please feel free to ask your neighbor... It's happens to the best of us.  We sing songs, read prayers together or silently, and hear a teaching from our pastor (and, by the way, it’s okay to laugh at the jokes!). We offer Holy Communion at our 8:30 AM service every first and third Sunday.  We offer Holy Communion at our 11:00 AM service every second and fourth Sunday. (The commemoration of Jesus’ sacrifice for our salvation - see “Holy Communion” below).  We pass offering plates during the service to receive tithes and financial gifts. As our guest you may feel perfectly comfortable passing the collection plate or contributing a free-will offering.

Holy Communion

We offer Holy Communion every first and third Sunday at our 8:30 AM Traditional Service and every second and fourth Sunday at our 11:00 AM Contemporary Service.  We welcome all who have been baptized and believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior to participate in communion.  Children in the 5th grade or higher who have been instructed in this sacrament are also welcome to commune.  If your children do not receive communion, you may bring them with you to receive a blessing.  We are ushered by rows to the front of the church where Holy Communion occurs.  We receive bread (the Body of Christ), and for the distribution of the cup (the Blood of Christ) you may take a pre-filled cup of grape juice or an empty cup that will be filled with wine.  After you drink, put the cup in the basket and return to your seat.  Feel welcome to remain seated if you do not wish to participate in Holy Communion.

Children's Message

We want all children to know and experience the love of Christ!  During Sunday worship, we offer a safe Nursery for infants to toddlers where you can take your child and he/she can play and be a "kid" while you enjoy the service which is broadcasted to the Nursery. Just ask the usher for directions to the Nursery if it becomes necessary.  “Quiet Kits” filled with crayons, coloring pages and books are available for young children in the Narthex (foyer); just return the kit after worship.  Before the pastor begins his sermon, he calls all children to the front of the sanctuary where he or another member of the congregation delivers a short message on a level that the children can understand.  They are sometimes offered a small treat as well.
