Loved Ones, as I shared with you last week, I believe with all my heart that when things get tough the people of God get generous. In the spirit of generosity and community building, we have an opportunity to share Thanksgiving with the people of Campostella. To do this we will join forces with Heart of Compassion Partnerships and Refuge Church of God. (There are two other congregations who have also been invited but have not yet confirmed.) Bonnie Block will coordinate our efforts. She will be seeking your help starting next Sunday to help in cooking about 20 turkeys for the dinner and/or to be servers for the dinner itself. Here are some of the particulars:

A Capostella Thanksgiving
Tuesday November 25th 4:00 to 7:00 PM
at the Cuffee Center in Campostella 

This is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and was chosen by the Pastor Williams as the best date for their community. The set up will start at 4:00 PM and the actual serving will begin at about 5:30 PM. We are expecting between 150 and 200 people at the dinner. 

Loved ones, I am so excited about this outreach. Each time we have gone to Campostella, the relationships have grown warmer. For the most part, participants at this dinner will be the children and their parents who are involved in the afterschool program that Heart of Compassion is running in the Forest Cove and Hunter’s Point apartment complex. What is even more exciting, we will soon have the opportunity to serve as mentors in the afterschool program on an on-going basis. But please hear me loved ones, this only the beginning. By building these caring relationships now, the ministry opportunities in our community center here at Apostles, will only grow exponentially as the outreach expands to a whole range of FAMILY-PROMOTING activities and services. 

Thank you in advance for your willingness to reach out beyond our walls. I love you all in the Lord and count it all blessing to serve among such a generous people.
